Dear Friends and Chinese culture lovers,

For the first day (Tuesday Oct. 21st), between 3:30pm and 7:30pm, we would like to introduce many of the most traditional aspects of the Chinese culture. We will have about eleven booths set up with each one having an individual theme:
1. Chinese Arts of Paper-cutting
2. Chinese Kites
3. Art of Chinese Tea Brewing
4.
5. Chinese Lantern Crafting
6. Chinese Embroidery
7. Traditional Chinese Toys
8. Chinese Scenic Post/Photo-cards Exhibition
9. Chinese Calligraphy
10. Chinese Knot-charms
11. Dumpling Making/Tasting
A banner with introduction of each theme is placed near each associated booth. The booths will contain exhibits and hands-on DIY materials. We hope that the visitors can have a real experience of the intriguing Chinese culture. Each booth can present its theme in its own style with different emphasis, e.g. exhibits, video, people with props and costumes, etc. We are trying to show the traditional Chinese culture as much and authentic as possible.
At 7:30pm, we will play some reputable Chinese movies on the big screen when in the same time the interactive activities can continue if desired by the visitors.
For the second day (Wednesday Oct. 22nd), between 7:00pm and 9:30pm, we will have performances with traditional Chinese shows, dances,

The positions where volunteers are needed:
1. Experts or enthusiasts in any of the themes we mentioned above
2. Volunteers that would like to help in each booths
3. Volunteers as ushers
4. Volunteers for decoration
5. People who are interested in making HunTun/YunTun and dumplings.
6. Performances related to traditional Chinese culture
7. People who are good at photography
8. One host (MC) for the performance (fluent in English)
If you have anything (clothes, customs, arts, toys, food, photos/pictures, videos, stamps, coins, money, etc.) that can show some aspects of the Chinese Culture, please let us know, because it is critical that you would lend us your precious personal collections in order to exhibit the rich Chinese culture as a whole in this event. Shall We Dance…!!
Dear Friends,
CFA will have a dance party this Saturday (9.27).
Time: 7:30pm-11:30pm
Location: 106 white building
It will be a casual/semiformal dance party. Just wear whatever you prefer. Please bring some confortable shoes for dancing.
Coaches are from our CFA dance club. One or two dances will be introduced, depending on the interests and the level of the participants.
Anyone is welcome and you do not have to have dance experience.
