Hi all,

CFA Discussion Mailing List has been approved by university listserv and is ready to use. This mailing list aims to promote discussion on general and informative topics including current issues, culture, economics, politics, religion etc. Unlike the one-way policy of CFA mailing list, users are allowed to send the reply of a topic to the entire mailing list with appropriate discussion content. Users are also free to join or leave the mailing list. Detailed policy will follow up as the registered users increase to certain amount.

The instructions on sending email, joining and leaving the mailing list is listed as follows.

1. When write to the list, please send email to

2. To join CFA Discussion Mailing List, please send a blank email to
L-CFA-Discussion-subscribe-request@lists.psu.edu

No subject or message text is required. The system picks up the name
and address from the e-mail headers.

3. To leave CFA Discussion Mailing List, please send a blank email to
L-CFA-Discussion-unsubscribe-request@lists.psu.edu.

No subject or message text is required.

CFA welcomes all community members to join this mailing list and we will try hard to unite the Chinese community on current issues by promoting well-meaning and positive group discussion. And we hope our users can make good use of this new platform by sharing and helping each other understand necessary information instead of for personal attack or other malevolent purposes.

CFA Board 2008-2009 Election Announcement

Dear all,

CFA Board 07-08 has worked with our community members during the past 10 months and witnessed the success of various activities including two major events and other collaborative programs. We are now launching the election for the next term of CFA Board, and the procedure will be modified compared to previous years. The schedule and description are listed as follows.

6pm, March 30th, 2008
Deadline for initial CFA Board application. A full time Penn State Chinese student who decides to run for President should submit your resume and a word document containing board member list (as complete as possible; President, Vice President, Treasteurer are required), brief description of plan for two major events, novel ideas for CFA activities during your term and any evidence proving you are qualified for President, to weiyan@psu.edu.

3pm-5pm, April 6th, 2008 (location to be determined)
Candidate teams presentation of self-introduction and blueprints to current CFA board members, followed by discussion on possible change or combination among candidate teams.

3pm-5pm, May 11th, 2008 (location to be determined; date and time subjected to change)
Election day. Final candidate teams presentation to CFA advisor and board members, who will vote for the final board. Detailed procedures adn policy will be announced before election.

To all President candidates: please make sure keep effective communication with your potential teammates and rivals before submitting application. Please prepare well for April 6th presentation since it will be vital for the team composition on election day. Thanks.
