Vigil touches people’s heart; donation to be sent to China through Consulate

星期三, 5月 14, 2008 by paypal

Dear fellows,

First, thank all for coming to the Vigil for 5/12 Earthquake Victims yesterday, and we were again truly shocked by the displayed graphic images of destroyed buildings, dismayed residents and perished victims in Sichuan. But still, we see hope from people helping each other, soldiers devoting themselves rescuing victims, and fellows from all over the world including here, at Penn State, giving what we can give to relieve our motherland and her people’s pain.

We sang “Ai De Feng Xian” together to give our deepest condolence and our greatest emotional support to people in this disaster. Led by Pastor Lin, we prayed for more lives saved from the disaster and the bettering of the situation in disaster area. We have written down words praying for China and her people and signed our names on cards, which we will preserve forever. And we donated, to support the rescue and recounstruction.

By 12pm May 14th, we have received $2286.23 donation. All donation will be sent to China through Consulate in New York.  And now we are applying for an account at local bank to accept donation through check. We will let our fellows and the Penn State community know about the information when the account is ready. And we can also donate through the 3 means mentioned in the 5/12 appeal.

Let’s bless China and her people suffered from this disaster, and let’s contribute to help our motherland overcome!
